Who We Are?

Our MissioN

The Southern California anime community is growing faster than ever, with countless new events, shops, talents, and clubs launching every day. With so much happening at once, both new and veteran fans often struggle to keep track of it all!

That is where the SoCal Anime Club comes in. We organize everything anime-related into one convenient spot, serving as the central hub of information for the entire Southern California region. Ultimately, our goal is to connect the local community in a way that has never been seen anywhere else in the world.

Our goal is to serve as the ultimate launchpad and creative agency for anime, Japanese gaming, and pop-culture artists. We simplify community engagement, making it easy for brands and creators to smoothly connect with, market to, and grow alongside the local SoCal fanbase.

Who is the person managing Socal Anime Club?

Hello! My name is Hugo Moroyoqui, and I am a lifelong anime fan. My journey began when I was just four years old, completely captivated by shows like Digimon, Pokémon, Naruto, and Dragon Ball Z.

As I grew older, I briefly lost my connection to the medium because it wasn’t as easily accessible back then. However, anime returned to my life as an adult during a deeply challenging time. Powerful stories like Your Name and My Hero Academia truly changed my life, reigniting my passion and love for the art form.

Driven by this new spark, I began attending local events and movie premieres. But I quickly discovered a major hurdle: it was incredibly difficult to track down local events, anime stores, fan meetups, and pop-up shops in the area.

Recognizing this massive disconnect within such a passionate community, I decided to take on the challenge myself. That is why I founded the SoCal Anime Club—to bridge the gap and seamlessly connect anime fans, local businesses, creators, artists, and performers all across Southern California.
